7 day Countdown to Lilly Pulitzer @ Target

7 more days left until Lilly Pulitzer brings colorful patterns to Target Stores with over 250 affordable items, ranging from their signature shift dresses and swimwear to shoes, totes and home decor items.

The resort wear retailer partners with Target to provide the iconic style that even first lady Jackie O was a fan of and I must say I haven't been this excited since the Prabal Gurung collaboration in 2013.

To experience the full Lilly Pulitzer Target collection, the retailer has put together this preview of the collection in a party like setting(I hear there is also an app that allows you to browse the collection, but I have not tried it yet). Dresses are priced affordably between $30 to $40 dollars, whereas big items such as patterned hammocks or garden umbrellas go to $250. There will also be a beauty section, with L'Oreal lipsticks and essie nail polish in shades created especially for this collaboration.

What do you need to know about the Lilly Pulitzer Target 2015 collaboration?

  1. All US  Target stores will carry the collection starting April 19th, for a limited time
  2. Some items are available online only (they are clearly marked on the Target website)
  3. The website collection launch is unknown so far, but rumor has it it is going to be available early morning CST.
  4. Plus sizes will be available, the collection preview even has a plus size section, but the items will be sold exclusively online
  5. You can favorite items in the collection in order to create a wishlist that you can retrieve from your online account and improve your online shopping experience
I will cover the wishlist creation in tomorrow's post.

A new H&M store came to town

My new H&M dress

H M peplum dress

Nine West peep toe pumps

This weekend, Saturday the 17th at noon, H&M opened its doors in the Austinite neighborhood called the Domain. The Swedish retailer was welcomed by the trendy and hip  Austinites who were roaming inside the store the whole weekend.

Gift cards and free T-Shirts were given for the first 500 customers in line and $10 off of $50 purchase were given to all other customers visiting the store this weekend.

I got there on a Saturday afternoon hoping that all the crazy shoppers got tired and left for their home, but at around 7PM the store was still full of people, the lines to fitting rooms were waaaaaaaaaaaaay long and the DJ mixing gave me more of a headache than a boost to go splurge. They were out of my size(s) or at least that's what I foolishly thought forgetting that they DO NOT practice flattering sizes. I waited in line forever and came out empty handed, but the quest was not over.

Sunday noon I took the bull by the horns and returned to the store. After 2 and a half hours I came out with:
  • The above pictured lovely peplum floral dress - $34.99
  • A stretch peplum top - $34.99
  • A turquoise leopard print cardigan - $10
  • A floral sleeveless silk top - $5
  • A coral and silver clutch - $17.95
  • A $10 discount
The store also carries an exclusive Maison Martin Margiela, re-edition from previous collections from the past 20 years and although I fancied some of the designs, they were a little bit too Haute Couture for my taste.
Now I'm waiting for the awesome deals that they're going to put out for Black Friday: $5 tops and blouses, $10 dresses and pants.
